LifeBridge Health Community Events for the Month of August

LifeBridge Health offers a variety of wellness education classes, lectures and screenings every week. These community events range from breastfeeding support groups to stress reduction and relaxation classes. They are all part of LifeBridge Health’s commitment to making sure that the local community is leading a healthy lifestyle.

So, what are the upcoming events for the month of July? (Click on the links to learn more and register).

8/2/12 - Strive To Succeed-Plastic Surgery Information Session - Cosmetic surgeon Ronald H. Schuster, MD, Chief of the Plastic Surgery Division at Northwest Hospital will introduce cosmetic surgery and skin removal after major weight loss.

8/6/12 - Sinai Bariatrics Information Session – Interested in losing weight? Join us for a free information seminar to learn if bariatric surgery is right for you. Hosted by Christina Li, MD, FACS, Division Head of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sinai Hospital and Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon or by Cynthia Long, MD, FACS, Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon. These sessions are for new patients in the Baltimore area.

8/8/12 - Strive to Succeed-Back to Basics - If you’re a year or more out of surgery and need some guidance or help getting back on track, join Mike and Tammie and patients in the same boat as you. Remember, we are your support for LIFE, so come on in and get the support you deserve.

8/8/12 - Baby Basics 101 – Newborn Appearance and Care - Held the second Wednesday of the month, this class is recommended for expectant parents and adoptive parents, as well as expectant grandparents. Content includes information on normal newborn appearance, infant care and bathing, care seats and the daddy bond. Pre-registration is required.

8/13/12 - Strive to Succeed-Navigating Lifestyle Change - Patient facilitator Laura Pearl, Director, Center for Leadership & Professional Development at LifeBridge Health will adapt New York Times Bestseller Who Moved My Cheese towards the lifestyle changes needed during weight loss surgery. This meeting should be attended by everyone at least once a year for goal setting!

8/14/12 - Breastfeeding – Best Start for Mom and Baby - Held the second Tuesday of each month. Topics covered include benefits of breastfeeding, the process of milk production, getting off to a good start, what to expect in the first few days, and the father’s role. Especially recommended for first time moms and dads. Pre-registration is required.

8/14/12 - Sinai Bariatrics Information Session – Elkridge - Interested in losing weight? Join us for a free information seminar to learn if bariatric surgery (weight-loss surgery) is right for you. Hosted byChristin Li, MD, FACS, Division Head of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sinai Hospital and Advanced Laparscopic and Bariatric Surgeon, these sessions are for new patients in the Elkridge area.

8/20/12 - Sinai Hospital Bariatrics Informational Webinar - Interested in losing weight? Join us for a free information webinar to learn if Bariatric Surgery is right for you. Webinars are hosted by Cynthia L. Long, M.D., F.A.C.S., Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon at Sinai Hospital. For more information see http://www.lifebridgehealthweightloss.org
