Help Fight Cancer By Participating in Cancer Prevention Study-3

What if you could prevent even one family from hearing the words…you have cancer? You can fight back against cancer by enrolling in the American Cancer Society’s new research study called the Cancer Prevention Study-3. By enrolling in CPS-3, you can help researchers better understand the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause or prevent cancer, which will ultimately save lives.

The ACS Cancer Prevention Studies, which began in the 1950’s, have collectively involved millions of volunteer participants and have led to crucial discoveries such as the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer (CPS-1) and the role obesity plays in the risk of several cancers (CPS-2).

Who can join the study? The study is open to anyone who:

  • Is between the ages of 30 and 65
  • Has never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer)
  • Is willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, which involves completing periodic follow-up surveys at home for the next 20 – 30 years

LifeBridge Health employees, family members and the Baltimore community will have the opportunity to join nearly 100,000 Americans who have already enrolled in this landmark study by participating in the Baltimore Area CSP-3 Enrollment Week September 9 – 15. Pre-registration is required.
