On Monday evening WBAL-TV ran an excellent story on whether helmets are needed in girl’s lacrosse. With the growing number of concussions in the sport, the pros and cons of wearing a helmet is a major topic of debate among experts.
Kevin Crutchfield, M.D., the director of the Comprehensive Sports Concussion Program at LifeBridge Health, was featured in this story. As one of the country’s foremost concussion experts, he is a constant advocate for awareness and education about this condition.
As we all know, concussions are a hot topic, especially among parents who have kids playing sports. The interesting thing is that, whether we play sports or not, a concussion can happen to any of us.
