Hawk Thon Dance Marathon Raises Money for Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital
Hawk Thon is a dance marathon event taking place at River Hill High School to benefit the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai. Hawk Thon will be taking place on Saturday, April 14th from 3 – 9 p.m.
The participating high school students have pledged to remain on their feet for the entirety of the event as a way of acknowledging the struggle that patients in the hospital go through every day. Each student also pledges to raise a $50 minimum for the hospital.
Throughout the event there will be dancing and games, but there will also be speakers to educate the dancers about the cause that they are raising money for. A live feed will be set up so that kids currently at Sinai can be a part of the event, and show the dancers exactly who benefits from the fundraising effort. Doors will be open to all visitors who want to stop by the event to check it out.
There will also be a t-shirt stand at the event where visitors and dancers can customize Hawk Thon t-shirts for $10. Donations will be collected in person at the event, and also online. A link to the donation page can be found on the official website: www.chiphilanthropies.com.
