LifeBridge Health Heart Risk Screening on February 29
February is American Heart Month, a time set aside to focus on heart health, not only for yourself, but for your loved ones. According to the Centers for Disease Control:
- Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
- More than 616,000 people died of heart disease in 2008, causing almost 25% of deaths in the U.S.
- Every year about 785,000 Americans have a first heart attack.
On Wednesday, February 29 from 3:45 p.m. until 6:30 p.m there will be a heart risk screening at the LifeBridge Health Medical Care Center at Mays Chapel at the office of Michael Pressel, M.D., a cardiologist at the Heart Center at Sinai. The center is located at 12221 Tullamore Road in Timonium, Maryland.
Participants will receive a comprehensive screening including a lipid panel, metabolic blood profile, heart health awareness assessment, body composition analysis, exercise and nutrition information, as well as brief counseling and education with a registered nurse. In addition Dr. Pressel will host a talk about heart health.
There is $20.00 fee and appointments are required. Light refreshments will be served after participants go through the screening process.
